I'll overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two time world heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will really want to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

Despite such comments, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather targeted former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK rival Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

However, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, consistently making massive paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Difference

As both boxers met for the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how surprising this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually going ahead.
